Description
Original German EMI Electrola 7 0077 3 Boxed set of 2 records containing all 6 Suites for Solo Cello by J S Bach, played by Heinrich Schiff. Nikolaus Harnoncourt describes this performance as "One of the most impressive interpretations of this music that I can imagine. The tempo and spirit of the dance movements are superbly portrayed". Near Mint all round, with original insert. DMM audiophile pressings.
Part of a massive Near Mint mainly early Decca family stereo list at low starts for everything.
This is one of some very exciting classical rarities in my list this week, from a Composers collection, plenty of Cello sonatas and early recitals from soloists looking for gigs, with rare stereo items from Britain in abundance.
