Description
On offer here is the rare and wonderful original Archiv Stereo box of Karl Richter conducting Bach's St. Matthew Passion with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and the Munich Bach Chorus. All of the records in this set are in beautiful, glossy EX++ condition, the labels are flawless and the individual album covers are perfect in their original plastic covers, all have inspectors signatures under Technical and Performance. The booklet is graded a conservative EX- condition with some light smudging and some innocuous blue ink pen writing next to one or two paragraphs. All inserts are intact and sharp, there is a bit of age spotting on the smaller card but is completely flat and straight with no tears or bends. The cloth box is EX- with about four inches of unfortunate fraying to the cloth along the right front top edge, there is also about an inch of fraying just behind it on the right top edge of the back. However the fraying is tame without any wild or loose threads, there is some slight separation but the cloth is steadfastly attached to the surface of the box and is sturdy and immovable. Other than that the box is clean and bright and sharp, overall a very decent and collectible copy of a rare album. Good luck! I will ship this anywhere in the world for the appropriate amount.
