Bach Suites For Unaccompanied Cello Complete, 3 LP box set. Mercury SR3-9016 with insert. Includes correspondance to and from Janos Starkos and signed dated letter from him.

Excellent box with intact corners. Unfaded clean and vibrant. Couple very light corner bumps to lid and a few small aras of white around edge of pastedown only, little larger one near red Mercury on top right. A few very light smudges to spine area but otherwise new looking image on cover. Spine has a couple light smudges, otherwise new looking. Glue has failed on paper hine that attaches top to bottom. Came off cleanly and you cansee where it was attached on lid. Cleanly seperated paper hinge is still on box bt is missing about 1/3 or so. Other than hinge box is excellent with intact corners. Fantastic looking cover to be sure. Clean insert with a couple light creases.

Vinyl: Excellent glossy vinyl and labels. All 3 records very glossy and with one exception appear unmarked. This is a smudge that goes across 2 songs on one side. I heard a couple light intermittent tics when playing those passages but could have been debris on record. Believe smudge to be silent. These are also a couple areas of small light smudges of what is probably from the paper sleeve. A few are causing some intermittent tics, I think. I believe a proper cleaning should remove these smudges and bring these records into the NM range. Beautiful copies. Sound wonderful.

Includes letter from individual to Mercury Records asking them to forward an additional letter to Mr. Starkos. this letterns concerns a certain Rachmaninoff title he woulk like to see Mr. Starker record. Also letter from Mercury saying they would forward letter. last is a signed dated letter from Mr. Starker to this individual thanking him and kinda blaming Mercury for not recording the title. All letters are unfaded and intact with 3 letters staple together. Some wrinkles and some stains to back of one. Letter from Janos Starker is in original envelope. envelope has a few light wrinkles. Letter looks new. All dated 1966.

Letter and correspondance is significant addition to this outstanding original copy.

Matris numbers: all numbers start with SR 90445 follwed by RFR-?.

Many thanks for your letter of the 6th and the compliments and kind suggestion. The problem is that record companies likes and dislikes are based on sales figures and so far they do not think that this record would sell to their satisfaction. Provided that the world remains intact and me in it I'm certain your wish will eventually come true. Wishing you many joyful musical hours in good health.
