Description
I do not sell copies or bootlegs.
I post my LPs by Tracked Delivery. I use good quality reinforced cardboard cases and separate the Vinyl from the Sleeves to prevent splits in covers. I also enclose a plastic sleeve for storage if the shrink wrap on the sleeves is not intact.
Reviews:
Extremely rare 4LP version!!
Banco De Gaia mixes a heady brew of world music, ambient, trance and dub and unlike so many practitioners of electronics he doesn't let the beats rule the entire program. I think that's one of the reasons an over ten year old release like this one still retains most of it's charm. Last Train To Lhasa is an audio two hour voyage so strap on the headphones and get ready for the trip. A classic.
This is the sound of the techno-tribe, banging a drum with one hand and a mouse with the other. Toby Marks, aka Banco de Gaia, wants to bang on the drum all day, and he thankfully makes a pretty joyous noise -- a full-bodied amalgam of the Orb, Loop Guru, and Transglobal Underground. Using an army of ethnic and indigenous samples (from Indian drums and chants to woodblocks, rainsticks, and shakers) and zapping them through the technological prism, Banco de Gaia creates a modern-day techno-folk music that calls up the shaman buried deep in our ancestral memory.
