First ever record by the Bangles which was hand produced themselves.
ULTRA RARE RECORD
I am sure the first question anyone reading this listing will ask is "Why is this record so expensive?". Beyond my price being $150 less than the only other $450 price I saw on-line then this record is the only type that true music collectors would collect being so unique and rare.
The Bangles including Susanna Hoffs and sisters Debbi & Vicki Peterson are still a band even now in 2015 but they were a much more popular band back in the 80s including many chart hits including the trans-Atlantic number one "Eternal Flame". We need to return to December 1980 though for when this band was first formed in Los Angeles when Susanna Hoffs answered a newspaper advert of the Peterson sisters.
So in early 1981 "The Bangs" as they were known back then visited a local recording booth to turn two of their songs into a single where 500 copies were produced on their own Downkiddie Records label and paid for out of their pocket. I can certainly confirm that 250 "blue labels" were produced first before the production then did 250 more "yellow label".
Look above my friends when that label is BLUE and where this band soon became huge with their music playing on radio stations and in nightclubs all around our planet. Any Bangles fan would "kill" to own this ultra rare item and this is an "you won't dare to play" investment that could be resold in future years for even more!
I can also say that there are likely to be many less than 250 blue label records around when after they were packed up in Susanna's garage then they went everywhere including; friends, inserted into record stores, then one was even handed to a local radio station DJ as this band begged him to play their music on the radio. So all of 34 years later many have been lost, damaged, or destroyed making my near-mint copy so extremely rare that you are unlikely to see another blue label on eBay within the next 10 years.
This record has been mine since June 26, 2003 where it has been lovingly stored free from sunlight, smoke and pets ever since. For such a huge Bangles fan like me (I currently sit in a room papered with their posters) this is a deeply regretful sale but these days I have a wife and a young 3-year old daughter to support meaning I now realise this ultra rare item needs to find some respectful love elsewhere. I have indeed knocked $150 off the only other price that I could see on-line to ensure a quick sale even if you just want to resell for $450.
This item includes: The 7" blue label ultra rare record seen in the photo. The original record sleeve not seen. The record design cover as seen. Then an outer plastic cover added long ago to protect this product from damage.
