Greetings everybody!  Thank you very much for stopping by yet another of my ebay record auctions!  I am happy to have you here, and I hope you will enjoy your stay and eventually consider your stay worthwhile!  Whether you are here to place a bid, to do some looking around, to do some comparing of prices, grading, and policies, I am just plain happy for the company!  Though my collection/living space is already pretty well stuffed with, well...stuff....and a good portion of this stuff is records, one might think that I already have enough to last me on ebay for a lifetime.  Considering my age, that lifetime seems to be advancing at a pace I would rather not admit to! Even though I work in a record store and have for the past (almost-)19 years now-what do I do in my free time?  Deal with records, natch!  By the way, all records I list on ebay are my own.  Just wanted to get that out there.  But though I have tons of records that have been in my collection for quite a long time, I'm always on the lookout for more, and did a little record hunting over the weekend.  So now, there's even MORE to go through.  I sell here on ebay, and am getting ready to launch a non-ebay auction soon.  Ebay/Paypal overlords, please don't worry, I plan on taking Paypal for payment, so you'll get your pound of fle, er, cut.  If you would be interested in knowing more, just drop me a line, and I'll give you the info about that.  But tonight, I do have a few pieces that I picked up over the weekend, a piece from earlier this year, and a few from a little over a year ago.  These won't list themselves, and it's starting to get late, so I had better get to it!

This time up, I have a 1928 78rpm recording on the Columbia Records label, label # 14331-D (this does have the "Viva-Tonal" marking), by Barbecue Bob.  This is the single of "Waycross Georgia Blues" b/w "Chocolate To The Bone".  Recently, I have been listing a bunch of pre-war blues 78s that I purchased as a lot a little over a year ago, put them away, and well, I had forgotten I had until I found them again while reorganizing the collection that I call my living area.  Most of these have already been listed and/or sold.  I think I already sold a 78 by Bob a few weeks ago!  But I came across this one, and since I have it-I might as well see if there is any interest in this one!  One thing about all these blues 78s is-they are all worn.  I mean these are VERY WORN!  This is no different.  This has scratches, scuffs, and all sorts of wear on it.  If you are looking for a pristine copy that will sound clear as a bell right out of the box, you will want to look elsewhere.  But if you are looking for a collection hole-filler, or you are into digital restoration, this might be a nice copy to pick up!  I gave this a light cleaning (will require more than I gave it though), and played it on the Numark portable record player we have at work. I used that player as it works better than my GE Wildcat (currently inoperable, dangit), and that player will skip a needle if you breathe on it.  Okay, so that's a bit of hyperbole.  Anyways, this 78 did play, and played much better than it looks!  It played, and played through as well.  It does have hiss, crackling, and a few pops as well, but you can hear the vocals and that sweet bottleneck guitar too!  But it is worn, make no mistake.  As it stands, I feel that giving this my V- grading is not a stretch at all.  That's my grading though, and my grading is considered non-standard. If you are considering placing a bid, please read the paragraph that follows this one, as it has my gradings and their descriptions.  It won't take long to read, please do.  This did not have a sleeve when purchased, but I have placed one on it for the fortunate winning bidder.  The label does have wear and tear, and though there is fading, with a good light, the text is still visible. In case anyone's wondering, here is my scale for grading.  M  Mint.  Reserved for still factory sealed.N- Near Mint, opened, no marks whatsoever.  E+, no marks other than a smudge that i'm too lazy to clean.  E, a light mark or 2, probably won't affect play. (why "probably"?  Because everyone claims their hearing is better than the next persons'.) E-, marks or wear that will cause a little audible affectation.  V+, wear that will cause some distortion of some type.  V, V-, P, well, you get the picture.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR NON-U.S. BIDDERS!!!!
All items I sell will be sent with a copy of the sale form, printed up from eBay.  I will not "mark item as a gift", just so you can evade import rules.  The people at my post office know me, and they will check overseas packages for inspection.  I hope you will understand my position about this, my apologies if you are not able to comply.

Also, international bidders, the price listed for postage on my listings are for domestic mailing.  I wish I could send overseas for that price, but reality speaks different.  I place a fair price on all international postage.  Watch for the invoice if you win.

ALSO-I need to let international bidders know of a certain problem that doesn't always happen, but will arise from time to time.  All International mail sent from this region has to go through the U.S. Postal Service sorting center in Sandston Virginia, by our local airport.  This sorting center has been named the least efficient sorting center in the entire U.S. Postal Service.  They prove this from time to time by mis-routing packages.  If this happens-and I will monitor the delivery-usually it will add at least an extra week for it to arrive.  If there are any problems, please contact me first, and I will do what I must to make sure you are satisfied with the order.

All items that are sent to a U.S. address will have delivery confirmation (at my cost) attached, as I have found that it helps...a lot!....to ensure that packages are truly en route to the customer.  This is for both of our sakes.  I will be using USPS "Media Mail" as my primary shipping method, however, if needed, and for an extra charge, I can ship with "Priority Mail", and if i can get away with it for the price, I really like 1st Class, but that's weight-dependent.

Oh yes, if you are the winning bidder, and you are in the Commonwealth of Virginia, I'm afraid you are going to have to fork over the 5% Virginia State Sales Tax.

Ebay has mandated that I include a "handling time" something I had thought was already included.  I usually get records mailed out the day after payment arrives.  But I will let you know that if any listing that is paid for after Friday mornings will have to wait until the following Monday, since I do the majority of packing at work-I have my packing stuff there.  Plus-I won't hound you for payment. As long as people stay in touch, and let me know the interest is still there, don't rush on my account. I don't mind waiting a bit and usually won't send any kind of reminders until after a week-at least-has gone by.  In this economy, the last thing anyone needs is for a seller to come off like a bill collector.  I'll work with you!
