Description

An original 1st press from 1965 on Red Spot RCA in the UK. Matrix 1B/1B - very 1st cut. Stampers...1B/1B..woah that is way cool! From the 1st stamper under the Buckingham sequence - great provenance! Note how the record has the Decca deep groove in it. RCA didn't have record plant in the UK until 1970. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono cover. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. 'Eve of Destruction'...what a great song! Channelling the Bobster?..ha!
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) In very nice condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side, a couple of superficial radial marks on side 1 - nothing feelable or that will trouble the audio though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a varying level of playback mostly between NEAR EXCELLENT and VERYGOOD+ with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity - by and large. It's not clean enough to trouble the top grades. But when on song this Lp is capable of giving you goosebumps! The only track where it deviates from the given grading is in 'Try To Remember' - in this lowkey track there's background static audible throughout. But other than expect a lovely rendition from these memorable tracks.
Cover (Vg+) In very respectable condition and has clearly been looked after. The front looks awesome. Jet black and shiny with just a couple of minor creases. The rear has avoided the worst of the ageing process - just light ageing really. Edge wear is very slight and the openings are still sharp. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Lightest ageing. No splits.
