MEGA-RARE AMBIENT/EXPERIMENTAL Original 1974 UK-only LP

Quite simply one of the most stunning, innovative, and brilliant albums in the history of electronic and ambient music. Absolutely mind-blowing. A widely-acknowledged masterpiece.

Often called "The Father of Ambient Music", BASIL KIRCHIN began his career in the 1940s as a Jazz musician, moving into Free Jazz by late 1950s and then on into Avant Garde and Musique Concrete; becoming entranced with - and very adept at combining collected found sound with traditional and treated instruments.
He recorded 2 completely different albums (1971 and 1974) under the title of "WORLDS WITHIN WORLDS". While the former (1971) LP last sold for near $2,500 - and indeed is the rarer of the two, this 2nd chapter (1974) is actually a more cohesive and more fully-realized album - BOTH are extremely rare, almost never showing up in the USA.
Original first pressing on the black Island Record Label. Back Cover LINER NOTES by BRIAN ENO

From an utterly vast and deep record collection, from my life-long best friend
who was a DJ at the Radio Station I co-founded in the 1970's - and who worked for me at my California record store in the '70s and '80s. . Sadly he has now left this mortal coil, bequeathing me his deep Vinyl Mine.
We had very similar tastes - so numerous prime duplicates are being listed.
Many PROMOS, IMPORTS and 1st PRESSINGS are included
.
Several thousand records (mostly LP's, but also hundreds of 45's), several hundred collectible and Rare, Out of Print CDs and Box Sets, plus posters and other memorabilia will all eventually be listed.

Truly a great (and enormous) collection! _______________________________________________________________________
