Description

A nice stereo copy of "Bass on Top", recorded in 1957 by a quartet led by Paul Chambers on bass. I suppose this was a little light relief from his work with the ground-breaking Miles Davis groups at the same time. The other three musicians were Kenny Burrell (guitar), Hank Jones (piano), and Art Taylor (drums). Tracks are "Yesterdays", You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To", Chasin' The Bird", "Dear Old Stockholm", "The Theme" and "Confessin'". This is a US Liberty/United Artists pressing with the blue/black label shown in the photo, and bearing serial no BLP-1569/BST81569.. The sleeve is a heavy card flipback with the back sheet pasted on.

I've processed the record with my Moth cleaning machine, and play-checked it. The sound is as you would expect from a good quality Rudy van Gelder vinyl recording, and is free of artefacts. The sleeve is in excellent condition with only a small amount of edge and corner wear.

I'm finishing off the disposal of my personal record collection on eBay after a year or so off following back surgery. Ready in the pipeline are some great jazz albums, including Mosaic boxes, the remainder of my 90's rock, and a load of classical, including some Decca SXLs. Previous buyers complimented me on the quality of my packing, and I intend to keep the standard up - the record will be taken out of the outer sleeve, and both then filmed onto a internal stiffener. The whole lot then goes into a proper card record mailer. My standard postage rates will be £3 for UK, £5 for international buyers.
