Description
Beach Boys first 45 on Candix 301. The labels have the number "46" in blue ink under the Candix logo. The vinyl is rated VG with surface scuffs on both sides.
The Beach Boys first record, under the Beach Boys name, was Surfin. Originally released on the Candix label, it was later picked up by Capitol, where the group enjoyed a long history of success. The true first press was on Candix 301, and there is no mention of Era distribution. I have a promo with Era distribution, which would then indicate a number of variations of Candix exist. The "X" label was actually distributed at Venice beach by father Murray Wilson, indicating an unofficial second press or more accurately, a bootleg of the original.
