The Beach Boys "Pet Sounds" from 1966 on the Capitol Records Label.

RARE ORIGINAL MONO PRESSING!

The cover is in VERY GOOD + or better condition! Comes with the original OLIVE Capitol inner sleeve.

 This auction is for a RARE MONO 1st Pressing of The Beach Boys "Pet Sounds" Album with the ORIGINAL Black labels and the RAINBOW Colorband on Capitol T-2458.  

Has the Number "6" next to the RIAA on the back cover.

Has IAM in a triangle indicating it is a Scranton, PA pressing. Scranton Pressings are considered to be more desirable.

This is one of top-five albums on anyone-and-everyone's want list, here is the Beach Boys's regal masterpiece in all its original (mono) glory. The sound of the original mono LP will leave you salivating;  Brian Wilson's "Teenage ode to God" aged with such immaculate, spiritual grace, that many people put it right up there in the Pantheon of Classical music, along the masterworks by Beethoven and Mozart. No wonder. It is an album of fine, delicate, almost nocturnal vibes, accessible only to deeply hurt (or loving) souls. On Pet Sounds, minor key reigns supreme from start to finish.

When Capitol records issued this masterpiece in 1966, they decided to issue relatively small number of copies of this album altogether.

Oddly enough, the album initially turn out to be a commercial flop and for many years remained the worst seller of all classic BB albums. In the intervening years this has, of course, changed considerably and the sales have picked up to reflect the status of the "Classic" bestowed on this Giant album.

Of those few copies released, even smaller number of copies were pressed in mono. As a result of the unusual combination of simultaneous dwindling market supply and ferociously escalating demand,  mono copies of this album have become major, major collectible rarities in recent years. It is believed that no more than 50 copies could be accounted for worldwide. 

The LP is in VERY GOOD condition with numerous scratches and scuffs on both sides.

The labels are the RARE BLACK with the RAINBOW Colorband and are in excellent condition.

Our starting prices are always reasonable. Very rarely will you see a "Reserve Auction". Auctions run for seven days. We Accept PayPal ONLY! Payment must be made within 72 hours of auction close unless other arrangements are made before the auction ends.

Packaging

LP's are removed from the cover and shipped outside of jacket in a inner paper sleeve. The cover and record are then placed in the plastic record protector. Finally, they are packed in the cardboard record mailer supported by cardboard stiffeners. The record is then packed well as for it not to move around during shipping!

I do not profit from shipping and handling.

US Customers: Shipping cost is as follows: $4.00 Media Mail (2-9 days) or $8.00 Priority Mail (3-5 days).

US customers please be aware that Media Mail can take up to 12 business days to arrive (and on rare occasions even longer). In most cases it will arrive at your door within 5-6 days. I ship all items within 2 business days of receiving your payment. If you would like to receive your item more quickly, I recommend you select Priority Mail as your shipping option.

International Customers: Shipping methods are First Class or Priority International. First Class cannot be tracked.
