Description

An original 1st mono press of SS on the UK Capitol lable from 1967. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 1G/1H - placing it amongst the first few thousand copies ever made. Please note labels are perfectly consistent with 1st press and exhibit the 'Sold In The UK..' statement. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse flipback cover. Also included is the original black and white Emi advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. All we could detect was a touch of low-level static in a couple of tracks. By and large it is a beautifully clean player and really serves up some great audio - the way it was meant to be heard.
Cover (Ex) In great shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. Lovely shiny front with only a couple of light creases just visible. The rear, often the problem area, is very nice and clean without ageing. All flipbacks are intact and there's little edge wear at all. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) No ageing or splits.
