Only 2 test press versions of The In Sound From Way Out have been discovered. This one is from 5/11/1995 with the catalog number and date of pressing stamped on the sleeve and vinyl label. The other version with the hand written info on the sleeve and labels from 5/17/1995 has been sold. This is the earliest pressing that has ever surfaced. It isn't listed on Discogs, but you can see this very copy listed on Beastiemania.
It is the test pressing that predates all other test pressings that have surfaced and is for the Fan Club Release on vinyl, NOT a subsequent repressing.
I purchased this unsealed, so I do not know if it was played before I received it, but I have played it once. The vinyl graded visually is beautiful without any flaws (M- because it is unsealed). The original inner sleeve is a thin polyurethane sleeve consistent with other Grand Royal Pressings from this era. The Original Jacket is a generic white sleeve which has the date of the pressing and catalog number stamped in the upper right corner like all Grand Royal test pressings from this time. The jacket is original, and is rated VG+ because it has some ring wear, pushed corners, and moderate creasing in the bottom right hand corner only. Because of the rarity of the item (I have only seen one in 28 years) it lends far more to the authenticity of the item than it detracts from being in less than Mint condition. I think it would be a crime to refresh the sleeve for a better grading, but that's just my opinion.
