Description
This is an Ampex 10.5" metal spool, and a fine example. It was the standard and automatic choice of recording studios around the world. Even Abbey Road Recording Studios in London (clue).
So, an excellent spool of tape on a very good metal reel. It will arrive in its own library box. You will not be disappointed. Now, I know some of you like to know what has been recorded on it. So, fans of The Beatles, heads up, this is very, very special. I mean, rare. I mean, unpublished.
Do you think you know all the Beatles songs? How about 'Child of Nature'? No? Well I'm not entirely surprised, the song is better known by its lyrically reworked version later released by John Lennon as 'Jealous Guy'. Well, how about that old favourite, 'No Pakistanis'? Gotcha again? Well, that's on this tape too, although you'll know it better as 'Get Back'. That's typically the kind of thing you'll find on this spool. The film version of 'Magical Mystery Tour' is here, a bit different to the album version. You know the song 'Glass Onion', yes? Well the version here is similar to the one you know, but, this one uses different instruments. 'A Day In The Life', is like nothing you've probably heard before. And, then there's the songs you haven't heard before, like, 'Commonwealth'. Like, 'Watching Rainbows'. Like, 'I Lost My Little Girl'. Huh! And you thought you knew the Beatles and all their songs?
Well, so did I mate.
But this lot is a real eye opener. And a real gem of a collection. Over 24 tracks altogether. All recorded on a 2-track machine at 7.5ips.
Anyway, this is an excellent example of a 10.5" metal spool. Grab it and make it yours - I guarantee, you will not be disappointed.
