READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

I recently took in a large collection of Beatles albums, which range in condition from a nice VG to EX.  They feature labels from first pressing Capitol to Apple through to the purple Capitol label.  I tossed out all the garbage, and will be selling these copies interspersed with my regular inventory for anyone who would like to have great play-copies, but who generally can’t afford the rarer variations for sale.

The vinyl is collectable on these, although the covers may be a bit dirty, and/or split.  Here’s a pair for your collection, and you can even resell one!

Beatles 2-Lot LP’s 1964 Songs Pictures and Stories Two Different Vee Jay Label Variations!

Both copies are genuine Vee Jay pressings of “Introducing the Beatles” version 2.

Vee Jay Oval Label

Vinyl--- EX/VG+.  Side 1 looks amazing.  Glows like brand new, with just a few extremely light lines that you’ll have to search for.  Side 2 has many more extremely light lines, but still shines like new.

Plates--- 63-3402-4/63-3403-3.  Nothing else, which is how these were pressed.

Cover--- VG.  As with most of the covers in this collection, the covers have general wear.  Top seam has a 3-inch split from the spine toward the mouth, for a change.  Some missing slick to the left of Paul, probably from a sticker being peeled off.

Gatefold--- VG+.  ¾ cream-colored gatefold looks remarkably well, with just some yellowing.  Had it not been for the sticker peel, this gatefold would have been a nice EX.

Labels--- EX/EX.  Both labels are bold and colorful, but they each have some very light spindle marks.

Vee Jay Inner Sleeve--- VG. Generic white inner sleeve with die-cut hole for the labels to show is present.  Has a bottom seam split about 3 inches long.  Yellowed and wrinkled, but you can replace it if you like.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Vee Jay inner sleeve en route.

Vee Jay Brackets Label

Vinyl--- VG++/Strong VG.  Side 1 couldn’t get away with an EX grade, but it did try to talk me into it.  Side 2 couldn’t get away with a VG+ grade, but it did try to talk me into it.  Light scratches only, none that can be felt.

Plates--- The following are all present on both sides:  “Audio Matrix,” “ARC” (hand-etched), 2-11-64 (hand-etched) and “URJ” (hand-etched).

Cover--- VG.  General wear and tear all over.  Initials written in blue ballpoint to the left of Paul’s face.  Heavy ringwear to the back cover.

Gatefold--- ¾ cream-colored gatefold looks remarkably well, with just some yellowing.  Had it not been for the ballpoint, this gatefold would have been a nice EX.

Labels--- VG+/VG+.  Labels look very nice, but they have spindle marks, none which tear the labels.

Vee Jay Inner Sleeve--- VG. Generic white inner sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show is present.  It actually presents as an EX sleeve with barely any wrinkles.  But one side seam and the bottom seam have splits about 1 or 2 inches each.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Vee Jay inner sleeve en route.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
