Description
Actual Ringo or Robin letterhead taken from the 3 Savile Row Apple office trash can way back in 1971 by Joel Glazier, our friend and fellow Beatles collector, who sadly passed away 7/7/2017 after a long illness. Joel was a special person who grew up loving the Beatles seeing them in concert then years later meeting them in person in the UK and US. Joel Glazier also started the "John Lennon Peace Forrest" in Israel, through donations planting hundreds of trees in the name of peace. Joel actually taught a college course at the University of Delaware on the Paul Is Dead theory, guest speaking at countless Beatles conventions on the subject as well.
Joel Glazier was a world traveler known to Beatles collectors and fans worldwide. Years ago Joel told us of one special trip to England in 1971 when he visited Apple Records at 3 Savile Row in London meeting some Apple Scruffs on the stairs and going through the actual Apple trash can. The photo of Joel standing by the truck (not included) was taken on his trip to the UK, 3 Savile Row and at St. John's Wood where he also snapped a photo of Paul near his home going by on a bike! (see other auction) The "Apple trash" Joel found listed here is a full sheet of rare RINGO (Starr) or Robin letterhead which Joel found in pieces and taped back together...this is just as acquired from Joel's estate as found in the Apple 3 Savile Row trash by Joel Glazier who was interviewed in 1974 by a Rolling Stone reporter about his visit to Apple headquarters, 3 Savile Row and his encounter with Paul McCartney! (see photo of newspaper article).
Please check out the other circa 1970's "Apple Trash" from 3 Savile Row we acquired from our friend Joel's estate that we have listed in separate auctions including copies of electric bills paid by John Lennon for his Aunty Mimi and Father Fred Lennon, also a rare SIGNED NOTE for JOHN & YOKO from Beatles manager PETER BROWN!
R.I.P. to our friend and great Beatles fan Joel Glazier... Strawberry Fields Forever!
NOTE" the photos of Joel and Peace Forrest button ARE NOT included...
THIS AUCTION is for the the RINGO or ROBIN torn letterhead from Apple 3 Savile Row only.
