Four landmark albums from the Beatles group and solo careers.
-- The Decca Tapes contains the future Beatles’ failed audition for Decca Records in London on January 1, 1962. With Pete Best on drums (Ringo Starr was no yet a member of the group), the Future Fabs recorded 15 songs, including 3 Lennon/McCartney originals: “Like Dreamers Do”, “Hello Little Girl”, and “Love of the Loved”, none of which they ever recorded again for release, plus several rock classics like “Memphis”, “Money”, and “Searchin’” and some off the wall choices, like “Besame Mucho” and “The Shiek of Araby”. Record looks mint/brand new, as if it was never played; cover is a generic white jacket with a pasted on paper insert and is in excellent condition.
-- Unfinished Music No. 2: Life With The Lions: John & Yoko Ono’s self-recorded 1969 album includes their performance of “Cambridge 1969”, recorded at Lady Mitchell Hall, Cambridge, England on March 2, 1969. Issued on the “Zapple: label, which included the Beatles’ apple logo. Record and jacket look brand new, although side 2 of the record appears to have some faint marks, which may be part of the vinyl, but do not appear to affect the playing of the record.
-- George Harrison: Live In Japan: A wonderful 2-LP set that preserves Harrison’s final live tour, with Eric Clapton, which took place in Japan from December 1 through 17, 1991. Clapton’s songs were cut from the album, but 19 classic Harrison songs performed on the tour are here, ranging from his Beatles output, like “Taxman”, to his later solo material, including “Devil’s Radio”, “Cheer Down”, and his tribute to John Lennon “All Those Years Ago.”
-- Paul McCartney: All The Best!: This 2-LP set collects 20 of McCartney’s biggest post-Beatles hits, from his days with Wings and beyond. Hits include “Band on the Run”, “Jet”, “Ebony and Ivory” (duet with Stevie Wonder), “Say Say Say” (duet with Michael Jackson), “Silly Love Songs”, “Let ‘em In”, “Live and Let Die” and many more. Records are mint and the gatefold jacket VG/EX with minor scuffs on the corners.
