Beatles 45 1964 Please Please Me RARE VEE JAY Block Letters, VG+!
I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…
For sale this week are 5 Vee Jay-issued singles, housed in the 5 different Vee Jay company sleeves from the early 60’s.
This sleeve variation features the hideously scarce envelope-style, having the back bottom of the sleeve folded up and serrated. It features the rarely-seen brackets logo in two vertical columns to each side of the playhole.
Vinyl: VG+/VG+. Both sides shine 85% brand new. But each side also has light scratches, nothing that can be felt.
Plates: Both sides have the following markings:
*“Audio Matrix” machine stamp, nice and deep.
* “MR” machine-stamped in a circle by Monarch Records.
*Initials hand-etched, “RA.”
*Hand-etched delta symbol preceding the job number.
Labels: EX. Very few, very light spindle marks. Otherwise, these labels look brand new.
Sleeve: VG+. This scarce sleeve is made with a thinner paper stock than Vee Jay normally uses. That means that these sleeves are almost always split and brittle. Not this one.
Sleeve has the very rare double-thumb tab. Very nice colors, bold and crisp. Slightly wrinkled, but predominantly flat. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
**Note: All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.**
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)

(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
