I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…

YES, this is a genuine copy.  Collectors will know that this 45 was only available for the summer of 1964 as a promo giveaway in Los Angeles only.  That’s a very specific and limited demographic region.  Not many were pressed, and even fewer still exist today.

Pressed by Capitol Custom Services to commemorate the opening of a Music City location in Los Angeles by radio statio KFWB, which if I’m not mistaken, still exists today.

Sleeve:  Original company Capitol sleeve is included in Excellent condition.  Would be NM, but there’s a small stain at the bottom corner.  NO SPLITS.

A generic white sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.

Vinyl: Beautiful VG+, flirting with Excellent.  Each side has mostly original shine, and each side has one long, very light scuff, plus a few short angel hairs floating around.

There is a tendency for my camera to not be able to pick up very light scuffs, and the only other way to show it to you is to directly sun-splash them, so that they stand out.

The photo of the scuff that’s provided makes the scuff look like a bright scratch across the surface, but in actuality, it’s extremely light.  So don’t let it mislead you into jumping into your bed with the covers over your head, it’s nothing that bad!

Labels: Excellent/ Excellent.  Both labels are nice and dark red.  Each side has a light dirtwear around the perimeter, nothing bad.

Plates: F1/ F1.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax on both sides makes this disc pressed in Los Angeles.

When will you see another one of these?

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)

One thing I forgot to mention is that the version of "You Can't Do That" is actually a slightly stripped down mix of the backing track of the commercially released song with live vocals from John, Paul and George.  In fact, for most of the verses, you can hear that John's vocals are double-tracked, because he's singing along to the record.  Not many collectors realize that, because not many listen to that side!
