READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

I recently took in a large collection of Beatles albums, which range in condition from a nice VG to EX.  They feature labels from first pressing Capitol to Apple through to the purple Capitol label.  I tossed out all the garbage, and will be selling these copies interspersed with my regular inventory for anyone who would like to have great play-copies, but who generally can’t afford the rarer variations for sale.

The vinyl is collectable on these, although the covers may be a bit dirty, and/or split.  Here’s one that’s a great, nearly Excellent copy.

Beatles ’65 LP MONO 1964 First Pressing Los Angeles, NICE VG++!

Beautiful, high gloss mono copy from the mother plant.  Vinyl is too nice for a VG+ grading, and just under the fence for an EX grade.

Vinyl--- VG++/VG++.  Side 1 has just one very light line that can’t be felt with the fingertip.  Otherwise, Side 1 looks VERY close to unplayed.  Side 2 has just a few angel hairs that can be seen by tilting the LP toward a light source.  This LP has an easy 90% to 95% original shine.

Plates--- J12/J10.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.

Cover--- VG++.  Surprisingly a nice, sharp cover.  The only issues are that the back cover has some light foxing and light yellowing.  Name and address written just inside the cover.  (See photo.)  Bottom right corner has about an inch of missing slick, but NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Labels--- EX/EX.  Almost NM labels.  Just a couple very short and very light spindle marks per side.  Both labels still retain 1964-high gloss.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- EX. Original olive green Capitol inner sleeve is present.  Really nice sleeve with just some wrinkling at the bottom corner from improper insertion at the factory.  Colors are still bold and graphics are sharp.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: None.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
