READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Beatles ’65 MONO LP Unusually Dark Green Cover Decca Consignment First Pressing!

Once every decade or so, I come across this cover.  I guess there were some covers that were printed with this extra dark green cover.  I’ve seen probably half a dozen of them since 1975.

So far, they’ve all been MONO covers.  Really super hard to track one of these down.

Vinyl--- Very strong VG, both sides.  I can see most sellers grading this one VG+.  Both sides have plenty of new gloss, but they also both have a small handful of light scratches.  There’s one on each side that is just barely feelable, and they may create a few light pops per rotation.  That’s why I backed away from a VG+ grading.

Plates--- T10/P11.  No Capitol insignias appear in the dead wax, because this copy was not pressed by Capitol.

Cover--- VG+.  Cover is nice and flat.  Back cover has light to moderate yellowing, light dirtwear.  Bottom seam is weak, and it looks like it’s ready to split.  Don’t store the album inside the cover!

Labels--- VG+.  Both labels shine with full gloss, but there are a moderate number of light spindle marks.  Labels lie flat against the vinyl.  Concentric ring is very close to the playhole.  Those two traits are from Decca lathes.

Inner Sleeve--- VG+.  Original Olive green Capitol inner sleeve is present.  Sleeve presents EX, but there’s one side seam split a couple of inches long.  One crease at the bottom from improper insertion at the factory.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original inner sleeve en route.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
