THE BEATLES

'A COMPLETE COLLECTION OF UK CHRISTMAS FAN-CLUB FLEXI DISCS.'

Here is a rare opportunity to acquire a full collection of all SEVEN UK Fan-club Christmas flexi-discs as issued to fan-club subscribers only from 1963 to 1969.

Each disc is housed inside its original picture sleeve but unfortunately no newsletters or inserts are present.

1963 - 'THE BEATLES CHRISTMAS RECORD'

Recorded 17th October 1963 - the same day as 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' and 'This Boy' - this 1-sided 33 1/3rpm disc comes housed in a superb condition gatefold cover with the 'National Newsletter No. 2' printed inside the gatefold.

Disc: VERY GOOD +
Clean & flat with some small, light scratches to the playing surface under halogen light but plays well throughout with only slight background and just one significant 'pop' at the end of Paul's speech due only to a small blemish in the disc material itself.

Cover: EXCELLENT
An extremely clean & unworn example which retains its vibrant yellow appearance with no creasing, marks or significant wear inside or out.

1964 - 'ANOTHER BEATLES CHRISTMAS RECORD'

Recorded 26th October 1964 on the same day as 'Honey Don't' for the 'Beatles For Sale' LP, this very upbeat performance is also a 1-sided disc which runs at 45rpm and is housed within its original card picture cover.

Disc: EXCELLENT
Clean & unmarked surfaces and no significant deterioration or any major faults to the sound reproduction.

Cover: VERY GOOD +
This example is strong and uncreased with the usual discolouration to the rear upper & lower edges made during storage after manufacture but no writing, splits or tears anywhere.

1965 - 'THE BEATLES THIRD CHRISTMAS RECORD'

Recorded at Abbey Road on 8th November 1965 on the same day as 'Think For Yourself' for the 'Rubber Soul' LP, this rather dull improvised affair is a 1-sided disc which runs at 33 1/3rpm disc housed within its original card picture cover.

Disc: Visual: EXCELLENT Audio: GOOD
No problems visually with this disc, both surfaces are unmarked and free from any visual blemishes. However, the disc plays with a significant amount of background noise and some 'swishing'.

Cover: EXCELLENT +
A superb clean & bright example which apart from two faint fingermarks to the rear panel, is in immaculate condition.

1966 - 'PANTOMIME - EVERYWHERE IT'S CHRISTMAS'

Recorded on 25th November 1966 in the basement studio of Dick James Music at 71, New Oxford Street, London., this entertaining disc is a 1-sided disc which runs at 33 1/3rpm disc housed within its original card picture cover.

Disc: Visual: EXCELLENT + Audio: FAIR/POOR
Visually this disc appears 'as new' but there is a slight uneven edge when spinning on the turntable which my stylus was unable to track. This may be fixable but it did not attempt to put it right.

Cover: EXCELLENT
Clean & vibrant with slight corner rubbing but no other significant trace sof wear front or rear.

1967 - 'CHRISTMAS TIME IS HERE AGAIN'

Recorded on Tuesday 28th November 1967 in Abbey Road studios in the form of a 'Pantomime', this is certainly the best Christmas disc the group released. It is a 1-sided disc which runs at 33 1/3rpm disc and it comes inside its original card picture cover.

Disc: Visual: EXCELLENT + Audio: VERY GOOD +
Pressed on paper-thin vinyl which appears 'as new'. The sound quality is average with some low background noise but no groove/play wear or any clicks or pops throughout.

Cover: EXCELLENT +
A superb, unworn example with just a hint of rubbing along th lower edge, but no other signs of wear whatsoever.

1968 - 'THE BEATLES SIXTH CHRISTMAS RECORD'

Recorded in different locations and separately by each member and edited together by DJ Kenny Everett, this disjointed affair is a 2-sided 33 1/3rpm disc housed in a Paul McCartney designed picture cover.

Disc: Visual: VERY GOOD + Audio: VERY GOOD
Both playing surfaces are clean & flat but some of the print on the label has faded. The sound quality is average with some background and light crackle throughout but no major faults.

Cover: EXCELLENT -
This striking cover is fully intact and uncreased with just some light toning to the upper edges but no other significant traces of wear.

1969 - 'THE BEATLES SEVENTH CHRISTMAS RECORD'

Again, recorded in different locations, separately by each member and edited together by DJ Kenny Everett, this final xmas offering is a 2-sided 33 1/3rpm disc housed in a Ringo & Zak Starkey designed picture cover.

Disc: Visual: VERY GOOD + Audio: VERY GOOD +
Clean & flat playing surfaces with no significant surface wear and all of the delicate print on the label is present. There is some light background present on both side normally found on this media but no significant or major faults.

Cover: EXCELLENT -
A strong and vibrant cover with a small crease to the lower right corner and a little storagewear to the rear but no splits, tears or writing.

Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.

I carefully play every record I sell on an EMT 950 transcription turntable at volume and list all visual and audible faults.

All the photos in this listing have been taken by myself and are of the actual items for sale.
