Description
The Beatles - A Hard Day's Night
(Parlophone PCS 3058 UK LP 1964)
This is a UK original Stereo LP pressing. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has a mid sized "Stereo" on the front. The sleeve is printed by "Garrod & Lofthouse". It comes with its original tracing-paper lined "Emitex" company inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has black & yellow "Parlophone" labels. The labels have "The Parlophone Co Ltd...", "Sold in UK..." and "Recording First..." texts. The matrix numbers are YEX 126-1 and YEX 127-1. The mother stampers are RR 3 and GP 2.
This is a genuine UK Stereo 1st pressing with the earliest matrix numbers & correct "Parlophone Co..." wording. It also features a different mix to the more common UK Mono pressings. UK 1st Stereo pressings are surprisingly difficult to locate. This is a very reasonable audio copy too.
Sleeve: There is a small 1 cm tear at the front sleeve opening. There is also a 1 cm seam split at the bottom sleeve opening. There is also a 1 cm bit of wear/ dink at the middle spine area. There is some mild to more moderate rubbing wear at the sleeve opening. There is some light or mild fading to the "white" of the rear sleeve. Good++ condition
Vinyl: There are some light to mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are approximately 13-14 hairline marks. These are all light or very light marks only. They vary in sizse from 1 cm to 6 cm. Most are quite small &, as stated, they are all light & do not affect playback VG- condition. The labels are in vg+ condition & show mild to more moderate spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in VG+ condition. There is some light to mild ringwear & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays VG to VG+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. This is quite a good audio copy overall. The music still shines through. There are no loud clicks or pops & absolutely no jumps or skips.
