Beatles: ABBEY ROAD 1st UK Press MISALIGNED APPLE No HER MAJESTY to sleeve or label. 1 Mother to Side 2. VG+ Vinyl. Near excellent audio.

PLAY TESTED.

Complete and original 1st U.K. Press of ‘Abbey Road’. Released September 1969, the first press had a -2/-1 matrix, with the final track, ‘Her Majesty’ omitted from both the label and rear sleeve. The rear sleeve was also incorrectly printed, with the Apple logo out of alignment with the track listing text.

SERIAL NUMBER: PCS 7008

MATRIX: YEX 749-2 & 750-1

STAMPERS: 4 HLP & 1 AOH

AUDIO. PLAY TESTED. NEAR EXCELLENT.

Both sides play with very little surface noise/static, with just one barely noticeable skip on ‘Come Together’.

Some light surface noise on intros to either side, and very occasional light ticks and a little crackle, but absolutely nothing that adversely affects a near excellent audio experience, other than the afore mentioned skip on the opening track. Very little trace of distortion caused by groove ware.

VINYL APPEARANCE. VG+

Some blemishes/hairlines/light handling marks/light scratches.

LABELS: VG+

Labels to both sides are minimum VG+. Dark green apple to side 1, with perfectly legible black typeface, with a little ware to centre hole, and light mark to track listing. VG.

Side 2 is cleaner, with no marks/staining etc. There’s just some very very light spindle ware to the centre hole, really only visible under angled light. VG+/Ex.

SLEEVE. G+

Fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve.

The front panel has some creasing, and has evidently had some tape repair to right side and top and bottom edge. There is some ring ware and creasing to rear, which shows the misaligned apple. Some corner bumps.

The spine is excellent, with just a few light marks, and a beautifully legible text.

INNER SLEEVE. EXCELLENT

The non-original poly lined inner, has no seam splits, with even the ‘window’ in excellent condition.

CONCLUSION.

In conclusion, your bidding on a first press copy of Abbey Road. The vinyl has near excellent audio, with the tiniest skip on the opening track, and 1 Mother to side 2. It has the ‘misaligned Apple’ to the rear, with neither ‘Her Majesty’ to the sleeve or labels.
