Super-nice legitimate mono Version 2 Introducing The Beatles, still in its shrink wrap with a price sticker.
Details below, please have a close look at the pictures also.
1) VARIATION:
VINYL: Spizer ID # VJ 1062(2).MR2A. Black rainbow label with brackets logo, with “Long Playing” and “Microgroove” in mixed (upper case & lower case) lettering (as are “Side I” and “Side II” also).
- Song titles/credits are centered on the label.
- Has the “Coffin-King” typo/error on the songwriting credit for Chains.
- Matrix info:
* Side 1 has hand-etched 63-3402-1 and the date 2-6-64 just below it (the date is faint, but it’s there); URJ is also hand-etched. There’s also a machine stamp, very faint and not legible.
* Side 2 is the same as above, but with matrix # 63-3403-1.
COVER: Spizer ID # VJ 1062(2).MC1B. Column back cover, this is the variation WITH the comma on Please, Please Me. (**Not sure how I mixed this up in my initial description, but thanks M. for pointing it out.**) Mr. Spizer's (still-awesome) book notes this as the most common cover variation, but at this late date I personally don't consider any authentic cover that's been protected in fully intact shrink as being all that common.
- Green “SPECIAL SALE $1.83” price sticker with the word “PROMO” inside a tiny US map graphic. No retail store is identified.
- As a Version 2 cover, it does not have “Printed in U.S.A.” on the front.
2) CONDITION:
VINYL (Visual grading): A few light scuffs, mostly handling scuffs. No play scratches, and it still has its luster. No spindle wear around the center play hole. It was obviously well cared for and rarely played. It’s a nice piece of vinyl - viewing it carefully under direct light, I’m conservatively visually grading it as a solid VG++ (or Excellent, if you prefer). I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
COVER: Absolutely beautiful. The shrink wrap is intact, except for a small (1/4”) split/opening on the upper right corner, which caused some minor wear (see close-up photos of front and back views). There’s also a slight dent in the lower left corner (also shown in a close-up pic).
It comes with a custom inner VJ sleeve - no tears or major wrinkles, but there are splits on all three edges.
It will be carefully packaged for shipping, with the vinyl removed from the cover and securely packed.
