The Beatles- Abbey Road – MFSL LP
MFSL 1-023 – Made in Japan - 1979
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL or MoFi) is a company that produces reissues of albums. All releases are said to be made from the first-generation master records and mastered at half-speed, which MFSL claims improves sound quality. In addition, each title is licensed to be mastered, manufactured, and sold within a specific time frame and with limited quantities produced.
The first Beatles record to be issued by MFSL was Abbey Road. This choice was not surprising, since that album made use of the most modern recording equipment available to the Beatles. MFSL’s Abbey Road was released in late December, 1979, and quickly sold out its original pressing. Re-pressings were done, proving that it was quite popular for MFSL.
This auction is for the MFSL, made in Japan, pressing of Abbey Road. The album is in Near Mint condition and comes complete with static free inner-sleeve and MFSL insert.
