Beatles Anthology 2 VERY RARE Limited Pressing College Radio Sampler Promo LP

$

40

In this auction:

·       “THE BEATLES ANTHOLOGY 2”  by The Beatles

·       This is a PROMOTIONAL SAMPLER RECORD with just 7 cuts.

·       This is Apple Records SPRO-11206/11207.

·       It was issued in March, 1996.

·       As you probably know, PROMOTIONAL RECORDS were issued in very small quantities and were only made available to the DJs at the Radio Stations for on-air play. They were not available to the general public. This makes them VERY sought after due to their rarity.

·       This is a VERY RARE PROMOTIONAL LP!! Why? In Perry Cox’s  Price Guide for the Beatles American Records, Cox states that ONLY 300 COPIES OF THIS PROMOTIONAL RECORD WERE PRODUCED! (How cool would it be to be the next owner of one of only 300 copies produced of a Beatles’ Promo Record!)

·       Cox further states that the record is a “COLLEGE RADIO SAMPLER”.

·       This PROMOTIONAL SAMPLER has a total of 7 songs on it:

SIDE A:

“Strawberry Fields Forever (Take 1)”

 “I’m Down”

“I’m Only Sleeping (Rehearsal)/I’m Only Sleeping (Take 1)”

SIDE B:

 “Eleanor Rigby (Strings Only)”

“Only A Northern Song”

“Tomorrow Never Knows”

“Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)”

·       The COVER is a CUSTOM SILVER COVER. It has “Promotional Use Only/Not For Sale” printed at the bottom of the reverse side of the cover.

·       The COVER is in STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION. This grade/condition is due to the number of creases on this thin poster-board cover. There are 4-5 light to moderate creases near the bottom right corner, a few light creases near the bottom of the front cover, a few creases near the spine, a couple of light to moderate creases at the top left corner, a few light creases near the top of the front cover, and 4-5 light to moderate creases at the top right corner. There are also 5 or 6 very small “fingernail” impressions on the front cover and 3 very small corner pushes. (Perhaps I’m being too “anal” in describing blemishes on the cover. As you can see in the images, the COVER is still VERY NICE with NO wear on the image and track listing, NO ring wear, and NO seam splits, NO tears, and NO writing.)

·       The VINYL is in NEAR MINT MINUS CONDITION. There are a couple of very small, very light surface scuffs on the B-side.

·       The Labels have “Promotional Use Only/Not For Sale” printed on them.

A VERY RARE BEATLES’ PROMOTIONAL RECORD with a LIMITED PRESSING OF ONLY 300 COPIES in GREAT CONDITION that will be WONDERFUL ADDITION to anyone’s vinyl collection!!!
