Description
It's a new year and time for me to reduce inventory of my beloved Beatles records. This is a beautiful Japan version of the famous Blue Box set, Toshiba/EMI EAS 50031-44, Number 06859. It contains the 12 original Beatles albums, plus Rarities, for 14 LP's in all. The box includes the OBI, frayed at the edges but still intact (see pics). The box flap contains two separations about 2-3 inches long; the rest of the box is in good shape but not mint. This set is pretty rare to be found in the U.S., especially with the OBI still attached.
The vinyl condition of every album is EX to Near Mint (with the exception of a small, light scuff on Within You Without You that lasts about six seconds). The album covers are EX to NM and much sturdier than the UK box (I own both); and in my opinion are much quieter and pressed on better vinyl than the UK box set. In addition, the Japan set contains lyric insert sheets for every album, including color booklets for Please Please Me and With the Beatles. The White Album is numbered. Also includes the Pepper cardboard insert, the White Album poster, and a full size poster of the four Beatles (as opposed to individual pictures).
I will include the following BONUS items for the auction winner: The Beatles 1962-66 and 1967-70, Japan versions. Both double albums contain EX to NM vinyls with VG+ covers, as well as two Japan-only booklets. Overall this set sounds fantastic, with all covers and vinyls of very high quality.
