Description

An original 1st STEREO press of BFS on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1/1. The labels are perfectly consistent with 1st press with 'Parlophone' mentioned in the perimeter text and 'recording 1st pub' still exhibiting. Remember, at this point in time, the stereo format was very much still its infancy. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold stereo cover. We also have the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In super condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side, and one small semi-feelable mark toward the start on side 1 [which does just sound slightly - see detail below]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level with a few minor deviations as mentioned below. By and large a very nice clean player - but not exclusively. When on song it really does nail these tracks in brilliant fashion. But there's some static audible in the tracks "Sun" & "Moonlight". So these tracks - whilst still perfectly acceptable - will not sound as clean as the rest of the LP. The only other issue I picked out was a couple of clicks in 'Loser' & a couple of ticks in 'What You're Doing'. Overall a very impressively preserved 1st stereo press.
Cover (Vg+) In great condition and looking better than many original examples will do by this point in time. The front panel is pretty good condition retaining much of the original rigidity, and it's still shiny. It's not overly creased, but there's one visible crease running through Paul's face. The rear looks excellent too with nothing more than  a couple of superficial creases. The interior looks excellent with very little deterioration. Edge wear is minimal - particularly for this BFS title. The spine is in much better condition that is typically found. They can be pretty wrecked by this point in time - but this example is really well preserved. No issues at all - all text perfectly legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Minimal ageing. No splits.
