Description
An original 1st stereo press of BFS on the Parlophone label. Matrix 1/1. Labels are consistent with 1st press showing 'Parlophone Co. & Recording 1st Pub'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold sleeve. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. And Wow!....what a copy...
Vinyl (Ex+) Wowzers this really is a very well preserved copy - and has seen minimal use. Under close inspection there are a few very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Original stereo copies are hard to find... and well preserved stereo copies are another whole level altogether. And this copy goes straight in at No.1 as THE BEST sounding BFS stereo copy I've witnessed. It really is that good...a hands down stunner. A beautiful clean rendition which means you can hear deeper into the mix than ever before. It's getting close to perfect. Interference is pretty much non-existent. All we could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Would be extremely difficult to find one equalling this level in my opinion.
Cover (Ex-) BFS is so so hard to find in decent condition due to that notoriously fussy cover design. This cover is not perfect, but just finding one at this level is supremely difficult. The front cover which often succumbs to an absolute battering looks in very smart condition. There's a few light thumbnail creases toward the opening, but little else to complain about. The rear looks great too without the usual heavy ring wear. There is what looks like a tiny tear at the base of the spine [just visible in the dark brown area at the base of the spine]. It's not opening up so as far as I can see it just looks like a superficial surface issue - and nothing overly sinister. The interior has a touch of wear at the extreme front panel corners, but nothing significant. Those flipbacks are all super clean and totally secure. Edge wear is very light for this title. The spine, whilst not perfect, is way above average with no big issues and the text is totally legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains a terrific specimen.
