THE BEATLES - 'BEATLES FOR SALE'
This EXCELLENT 1st MONO pressing the album's dates from around the album's initial release in December 1964.
This early copy carries the earliest possible -3N cut on side 1 and contains one minor, but noticeable audible variation to the -4N pressing. It occurs on the song 'No Reply' when, just before John sings the final ..'cause you walked hand-in-hand..' a drop out occurs on the -4N & EP version. However, this fault is not present on this -3N cut.
The disc itself bear the familiar the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 1240
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Parlophone Co..' worded rims.
A 'KT' purchase tax code is visible around the centre of the side 2 label.
Matrix numbers: XEX 503-3N & XEX 504-4N
Stamper codes: 9/GHL & 3/GAL
Vinyl weight: 170g
Housed in an outer laminated, inner-flipback gatefold cover with and outline front stereo indicator.
Complete with an original 'Use Emitex..' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.

A clean & vibrant pair with display just a handful of light spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both playing surfaces are extremely clean & bright and are, apart from a single 2cm light non-feelable surface mark on side 2, unmarked in strong daylight. Closer examination some harmless inner-sleeve removal/storage marks but no further significant marks or wear. Both sides of this impressively heavy disc lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Play: EXCELLENT +
This fine sounding copy has received only a minimal amount of careful play on good equipment and my single play-check at volume found no evidence of any groove/playwear, even on the most easily worn inner-tracks and 'Mr Moonlight' organ solo. I did notice an occasional light click/tick between some tracks but there is certainly nothing to spoil the music or enjoyment of this great sounding copy.
Cover: VERY GOOD +
A respectable example of this fragile cover which displays some light to moderate handling/storagewear but no major faults. The delicate front leaf is clean & flat with no creasing or 'thumbnails' to any part. There is a touch of wear to the upper edge but no tears or feathering anywhere. The inside of the gatefold is clean & black where it should be with no rubbing, writing or missing paper on either panel or any damage or wear to either end of the delicate centre hinge. The rear panel is clean & flat with the only sign of wear being a 3cm section of shelfwear to the lower left corner but no splits to any. there is some flaking to the upper edge of the spine but it is square, un-crushed & clearly worded.
Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD +
Clean, crisp & flat with a few minor storage wrinkles, but no writing, tears or seam splits.
