This EXCELLENT & early 1st UK MONO pressing dates from initial December 1964 release and is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1240

This pressing has one minor audible variation to the -4N pressing which occurs on 'No Reply'. The -4N LP cut (and EP track) there is a small 'drop-out' just before John sings the final ..'cause you walked hand-in-hand..'. This is not present on this earlier -3N cut where the track plays faultlessly.

Both bear the 'Sold in UK..' text & have 'The Parlophone Co..' worded rim texts.

The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.

Housed in an outer laminated, inner-flipback gatefold mono cover.

A clean & unblemished set with a small collection of light spindle trails around each undamaged centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Extremely clean and unworn playing surfaces which apart from a single 1.5cm non-feelable hairlines on side 1 are unmarked in strong daylight. Closer examination directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals a small number of harmless wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines but no other visible marks or wear. Both sides of this early copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Sound Quality: VERY GOOD +

This well looked after copy has received a moderate amount of play but is without any significant deterioration to the overall sound quality. My single careful play-check at volume detected slight intermittent background crackle, but no clicks, pops, jumps or any other such major faults.

Cover: VERY GOOD +

A respectable example of this fragile cover with a bright and glossy front leaf with just a small bend to the upper & lower right corners but no feathering or tears to the delicate edges. The rear panel is also glossy and clean but has some missing laminate on the leading edge. The inside of the gatefold is unworn and undamaged with no tears of stresses to the centre hinge ends. The spine is fully laminate and worded and all seams are unstressed and unsplit.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT

Clean & flat with some mild age-toning and light storage wrinkling but no writing, tears or seam splits.
