Description
This is my personal copy of Beatles for Sale which is for sale (no pun intended!) along with my other albums only because I have now retired from work and have moved - and need to downsize.
The labels are in excellent condition with spindle trails providing evidence of its use - which is not excessive - slightly worn around the spindle holes. The disc surface is excellent with only a few minor hairline scratches and some finger marks.
The record serial is PMC 1240 with side 1 identified on the label by matrix reference XEX 503 and side 2 by XEX 504. The lacquer number stamped on the playing surface run out is XEX 503-4N on side 1 and XEX 504-4N on side 2. additional identification marks stamped are as follows: side 1 mother number is 1, and stamper code is T (9). side 2 has mother number 2 and stamper code RP (26).
The disc inner sleeve is maroon EMI advertising version from 1966 (I bought this record on 22/1/66 - its original release date was 4/12/64) and is in excellent condition with no tears, creasing or wearing.
The album sleeve is one of the first in 'gatefold' format and has internal seam construction. its condition is excellent with a couple of lamination creases. It has the medium sized version of 'mono' in outline. The edges of the sleeve are only slightly worn and the corners have minimal dog-ears. The spine is OK but the lamination on the front edge is a little frayed. The sleeve manufacturer is Garrod and Lofthouse. The only downside is that it has the sticky label of the record shop from which it was bought and I have written the date of purchase on the inside of the gatefold.
In general though a very fine example
Happy to respond to any questions - and watch for my other albums coming up over the next few days/weeks!!
Offered at a low starting price to let it find its own market level and encourage a sale!!!
