Description
The Beatles Hard Days Night original UK 2nd pressing is very much rarer than the 1st pressing and very rarely seen with the YELLOW AND BLACK parlophone label, SOLD IN THE UK text and GRAMOPHONE CO around the rim, as in this copy.
The vinyl on this copy is of the heavier and thicker type which is much more robust than the later pressings. It retains its original sheen and is in an excellent+++ condition with no signs of groovewear.
The mother stampers are Side 1 "7" "ATO" and Side 2 "8" "RHA" (very early).
The KT tax code is stamped on the label on side 2 only, which again I am told is the sign of an early pressing.
The audio is crystal clear, awesome for a 43 year old record.
There is little or no spindle wear on the label and spidering can only be seen in strong lighting. I would say it has been played but definitely only minimally.
The inclusion of 'recording first published 1963' and small type style indicate an early pressing - later ones had larger type.
The cover is in an excellent+++ condition consistent with being kept in a plastic cover all these years.There is very little marking or ageing on the fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flipback rear cover and all flaps are in perfect condition. I would say it is in an exceptionally clean condition.
The front laminated cover has very few creases and just extremely light storage wear.There is very little feathering at the opening edge.
The spine has no splits or scuffing at all and the album title is fully readable.
The original Emitex record sleeve is clean and has no splits.

I have been told that early 2nd pressings are very rarely seen and especially so in this condition.
All in all a superb example of a rare collectable record.
