Beatles Iconic Taiwan Sgt. Peppeb’s Loney Hearps Club Band LP!
For Beatles collectors who collect the misprints from other countries, this one is iconic, right up there with Mexico’s Let It Be first pressing, featuring “I Dig a Bony,” or Russia’s White Album, with such classic titles as “I’m SD Merd,” “Blacknaird,” Rocky Rangoon,” “Sirthdry,” and “Honey EIE.” (I’m not making those up!)
While Sgt. Peppeb’s Loney Hearps Club Band doesn’t have as many or as botched misprinted song titles as that White Album, it does have a few. Mr. Kitei made his only appearance on this LP. Then, there’s Good Mornnig if you’re talking with your mouth full. And the reprise invents the term, “Lone Ly.” But my personal favorite is the last song on the album. For the Dan in YOUR life. And then of course, we learn that Paul’s last name is really Mocartney.
Vinyl---Visually, the vinyl looks as good as a very strong VG, maybe even a VG+. But for some reason, it plays back with lots of surface noise. This is NOT a good play copy. It literally sounds like someone frying bacon with a Geiger counter. I don’t know whether Taiwan used inferior vinyl stock on their albums, or whether this copy has lost all its moisture. But be forewarned, this copy does NOT play back well.
Labels---Labels are very sharp, no loss of label texture, which is very like smoothened fingerpaint. Neither glossy nor flat, the texture of the labels seems to be an Asian texture. It looks like the texture should be subject to flaking, but there is only evidence of that in the Liming Record Stereo logos on each side. No spindle marks. A few cracklings around the playholes on each side.
Cover---Structurally pretty solid, however, the top seam is split about 1 ½ inches. Both the spine and bottom seam are beginning to split. Graphics look a little dulled over time.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.
