The Beatles – “I’ll Get You” – Swan – Rare One-Sided Promo 45
Swan S-4152-1 - 1964
“I’ll Get You” was first released in the U.S. on the Swan label, in September, 1963, as the B-side of “She Loves You.” The record received no attention, sales were terrible, and it rapidly disappeared. But after “I Want To Hold Your Hand” was released by Capitol, three months later, and zoomed to number one, Swan decided a re-release of “She Loves You” was in order. On its second go-round, the single was a huge hit, spending four weeks at number two, two weeks at number one, and selling over two and a half million copies.
When “She Loves You” began dropping off the charts, Swan attempted to get additional mileage out of the single by promoting the B-side, “I’ll Get You”. To get radio play for “I'll Get You”, Swan issued this VERY RARE white label promotional single with “I'll Get You” on one side and a blank side and label on the other. This promotional one-sided 45 is very scarce, for not many were pressed!!!
This auction is for the one-sided promo 45 for “I’ll Get You,” on Swan, from 1964 The record is in VG+ condition, with clean labels minimal wear on the vinyl.
