Description
The Beatles – Introducing... The Beatles
Vee-Jay Records VJLP 1062 / LP 1062
Mono • Small Brackets Labels • Version II
One of the most famous and collectible early U.S. Beatles releases. This Version II configuration includes "Please Please Me" and "Ask Me Why" and features the desirable small brackets label variation.
A very respectable vintage copy that has clearly been enjoyed over the decades but remains attractive and plays well.
Condition
- Vinyl: VG. Visible surface marks and spindle wear consistent with age and use. Play-tested all the way through and performs better than its visual appearance suggests, closer to VG+ playback, especially given its age.
- Labels: Moderate spindle wear from normal use.
- Jacket: VG. Presents remarkably well for a 1964 Vee-Jay release. Light surface and edge wear, partial seam split (~2") at lower right, and minor wear along the top & bottom edge. Spine is in decent, legible shape (see photos). No writing or other artifacts. Strong overall eye appeal for its age.
Collector Notes
Vee-Jay Beatles releases remain among the most fascinating records of the early Beatlemania era. While many surviving copies show heavy wear, this example retains strong visual appeal and offers a solid listening experience.
Made in US, 1964This LP has the "7inch/45 label" with the small brackets, the “Coffin-King” typo, with “INTRODUCING THE BEATLES” and “Long Playing” on the label. The record’s trail off areas include the following hand etched markings: "63-3402-1", & "URJ". The machine stamped Audio Matrix logo also appears (though barely legible).
Sleeve is Version II, with "Please, Please Me" (with comma) & "Ask Me Why"

A Note About Grading
We do our very best to grade records honestly and conservatively. Unless specifically noted, records are visually graded and have not been play-tested. Vintage vinyl can sometimes surprise you?both positively and negatively?and playback may vary based on your equipment and setup.
Most of these records have been around for decades, and while we carefully inspect each one, some imperfections simply cannot be detected without listening all the way through. We aim to describe condition as accurately as possible and would rather under-promise than over-promise.
Thank you for supporting a small seller who is doing his best to preserve and rehome these wonderful records.
