This is a RESPECTABLE example of The Beatles FIRST 1962 UK Single. Most were played to death at parties and never survived, and the majority that we see now are in poor condition.
Item Description & Condition:
’LOVE ME DO/PS I LOVE YOU’ was The Beatles FIRST UK Single.
Released by Parlophone, UK on 5 October 1962 - over 47 years ago - this FIRST ISSUE VINYL 45 is on the DISTINCTIVE RED Parlophone Label with Silver Printed text, with ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd....’ label rim, With ‘Recording First Published 1962’, With ‘Ardmore & Beechwood Ltd’ publishing credits. This version is **WITHOUT** ‘Made In Gt. Britain’ label text printed to both sides of the record labels.
Both sides of the Record Labels are in STRONG excellent condition, with the exception of the initials ‘PAY’ handwritten in biro to both labels and some light center spider trails. There is NO fading to the RICH, VIVID Red background and NO fading to the CLEAR Silver Printed Text.
Side 1 matrix: 7XCE 17144-1N and Side 2: 7XCE-17145-1N.
Side 1 stampers: PZT1/GM and Side 2: PZT1/GR.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in very good plus condition, showing some light surface scratches - none of which affect the play quality - but certainly NO deep scuffs or deep scratches.
The Vinyl 45 comes in its ORIGINAL, RARE, VERY NICELY PRESERVED Triangular Multi-coloured Parlophone Company Sleeve with no seam splits or handwriting, just some inevitable creasing - A RESPECTABLE example.
Play Quality:
Both sides of the disc play well throughout. There are NO skips or jumps, and only background crackle on both tracks.
An all round RESPECTABLE example of this VERY COLLECTIBLE early BEATLES UK Debut Single.
