READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
**This week, there will be a handful of MONO Beatles albums for sale, that fall within the VG+ range. If you’re looking for great play copies that still have collectability for your library, but aren’t necessarily top keepers, these will suit you perfectly. **
Beatles LP 1964 Beatles ‘65 MONO First Pressing LA, Unplayed Nice Vinyl!
Vinyl--- EX/VG+. 90% original gloss. This should have been a NM album.
I bought it partially sealed back in the 90’s, so I went ahead and pulled the shrinkwrap off.
This copy has never been played. But what keeps it from a NM grade is that Side 2 is littered with manufacturer’s burn marks like the ones pictured, smooth against the vinyl, and none of which you can feel with your fingertip. Side 1 has a far lesser amount of them. So cosmetically, this copy is VG+, but it’s still a virgin after 60 years.
Plates--- H9/J12. Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.
Cover--- EX. Front cover still presents as NM. Top seam has 2 inches of crackled slick, but isn’t split. Back cover has dulled just a little from the years.
Labels--- NM/NM. 100% full gloss, bold and punchy colors, NO SPINDLE MARKS.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- EX. Original burnt orange Capitol sleeve is present with the west coast thumb tab. Has two light creases to one corner from improper insertion at the factory. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.
RIAA: 6
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)

(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
