READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles LP 1965 First Pressing Beatles ’65 RARE STEREO Consignment VG+/EX Vinyl!

Collectors know that Stereo consignment pressings are far rarer than most first pressings stereo copies.  Firstly, to begin with, in 1965, mono outsold stereo 4 to 1 on the regular Capitol pressings.  Consignments were limited to begin with, since they were only meant to help meet demand.  No exception, consignment mono copies are plentiful, but Stereo consignment copies are not, and especially not in this condition.

This copy was pressed by Columbia Records, and it bears the audio quality that is associated with Columbia Records of the early to mid-60’s Byrds, Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel.

Vinyl--- VG+/EX.  That is to say that there is no grade that occupies the space between those two.  There are noticeable manufacturer’s marks that play the “Now you see me, Now you don’t” game, when tilted toward or away from your light source.  Those put to one side, there are just a palmful of light lines, but mostly original shine, about 90%.

Plates--- W5-TH/ W5-7H.  Whatever those mean.  Besides the hand-etched catalog numbers of the album, there are no other factory stampings.

Cover--- Nice VG.  Some will grade the cover VG+.  White areas have light to moderate dirtwear and yellowing over the nearly 60 years.  Other than that, this is a fine cover.  All seams and spine are muscular-strong, NO SPLITS.  Not even close.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Scranton-provided labels.  Thin-cut concentric groove closer to the outer edge of the labels come from Columbia lathes.  They look gorgeous 1965-newly printed.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- EX.  Capitol inner sleeve provided is the 1965 cream-colored Capitol sleeve that was provided for packaging of all of the non-British catalogue titles.  In other words, these sleeves were used in 1965 and into 1966 for titles that were Capitol-compiled, market-made titles.

NO SPLIT SEAMS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: 3. Scranton-provided album cover.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
