READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
Beatles LP 1965 MONO Rubber Soul Mystery Pressing, BEAUTIFUL VINYL!
I’ve had this copy for a number of years now, and I still am unsure who pressed this one. There are no Capitol plant insignias on either side in the dead wax. The labels’ concentric grooves are definitely Capitol’s, though.
Vinyl--- EX/EX. Each side has very light to moderate cloudiness, but other than that, the vinyl looks exquisite and shiny! Maybe a stray hairline that I’m not finding.
Plates--- F17/F19. No Capitol insignias.
Cover--- Strong VG+, almost Excellent. With the exception of some light yellowing around the margins, this cover would have been an easy Excellent, and many sellers would have rated it as such.
**There’s a very cool little printing error on the front cover, which is that the word, “Soul” has some slightly darker brown stripes through it. Almost like an early 70’s graphic that became popular, where everything had multicolored horizontal stripes.
Labels--- NM/NM. Includes “The Beatles” on the labels. If this is a Capitol pressing, it’s a second pressing. If it’s a consigned pressing, it’s a first. Beautiful cobalt blue domes from the first pressing. NO SPINDLE MARKS.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- EX. Original olive green Capitol inner sleeve from the first pressing is present. One side has moderate record outdent. Colors are punchy and bold. NO SEAM SPLITS.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.
RIAA: 4
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
**Check out my other auctions for more hard-to-find vinyl!
