READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

This week, there are 15 original pressings that other sellers had graded as NM, but fell more into the strong VG+ to Excellent range.  A few really do have NM vinyl.  Those happen to be duplicates in my collection.  Covers are mostly “meh.”  Average damage.

Beatles LP 1967 Magical Mystery Tour First Pressing Scranton Strong VG+ Vinyl

Vinyl--- Strong VG+.  Both sides have a minimal enough amount of scratches to be considered Excellent by some, however, there looks to be some dirt in the grooves that don’t wipe off on Side 1.  Side 2 has a very light scratch at the 12 o’clock position that the camera couldn’t see, but you will when you tilt it toward a light source.  Nice copy.

Plates--- A21/ B22.  Machine-stamped triangle with the letters, “IAM” inside it makes this copy pressed by Scranton.

Cover--- VG. Second pressing cover has “No, You’re Not” in scripted letters, rather than the block letters.  Top seam of the mouth was Scotch taped about halfway.  Both seams have light shelfwear.  Bottom right corner has a punch hole.  Price sticker on back cover.  Booklet is still attached, but it is coming loose.  See photo.

Labels--- EX/ VG+.  Side 1 label looks NM, but it does have an extremely light spindle mark that you need a bare bulb to see.  Side 2 label has very light scratches.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Generic white sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show through is present and in Excellent condition.  NO SPLITS.

RIAA: N/A.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
