READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

**This week, there will be a handful of MONO Beatles albums for sale, that fall within the VG+ range.  If you’re looking for great play copies that still have collectability for your library, but aren’t necessarily top keepers, these will suit you perfectly. **

Beatles LP 1967 Sgt. Pepper MONO First Pressing LA, COMPLETE, Nice Vinyl!

Much different than the Stereo mix, much preferred by The Beatles than the Stereo mix.

Vinyl--- VG+.  80% original gloss.  Beautiful shine with a dozen or so very light lines per side, none of which you can feel with your fingertip.

Plates--- F11/G12.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.

Cover--- VG.  Moderate to heavy ringwear, both sides.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Gatefold--- EX.  Gatefold has very little wear, bold colors.  Some very minor foxing on the top right panel.  NO CENTER SEAM SPLITS.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Both labels look 1967-freshly printed.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

First pressing label has the second track on the first side listed as “A Little Help from My Friends.”

Insert--- EX.  Very close to NM. 

This original 1967 insert has the high gloss, whereas late-60’s and onward had semi-gloss. 

Background is the darker green original, as opposed to the standard green of the later ones. 

Stereo catalogue number is missing from the bottom left corner, making this insert the one that was issued with the original MONO pressings. 

Barely ANY wear.  It does have a very light record outdent, and one finger divot that is located next to the Sgt.’s arm.  One small bent bottom corner.  The worst damage to this insert is that the back has yellowed significantly, but uniformly since 1967.

Possibly the best 1967 MONO insert I’ve ever seen.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- EX.  Not with the red gradient sleeve, this copy has the 1967 tan-colored sleeve, which was the last one issued with 60’s Capitol albums.  Has a crease to one bottom corner, due to improper insertion at the factory.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: N/A

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
