READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Beatles LP 1968 Yellow Submarine Apple First Pressing in Partial Shrink A-Plates, EX!

In the Interest of Full Disclosure:

IMPORTANT: This is a relist of sorts.  Buyer reported seeing damage to the LP that he didn’t consider merited an EX grading.  When I received the LP back, I saw what he meant.  Looks like the LP had been inspected en route, as there were some fresh light scratches on side 1 that hadn’t been there when it shipped from here.

This relist has an LP that was swapped for this sale.  Please be aware that while this isn’t the original LP that was issued with this cover, it IS however; still a first 1968 Apple pressing.

That said:

Vinyl--- EX/EX.  Vinyl would grade NM, had it not been for some cloudiness in the vinyl on both sides.  No scratches, though!

Plates--- A5/A5.  Definitely first-day issued plates.  Letter “O” in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Jacksonville.

Cover--- EX.  Cover was preserved very well.  Back has some uniform yellowing, but there are no splits to the spine and bottom seam.  Top seam has a small 1/2-inch center split.  There is a very large piece of shrink missing on the front cover.  See photos.

Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the back cover.  One is to the left of George’s cartoon.  The other is due south in the text, just below the second red line, in the word, “Pepperlanders.”

There may have been another hole on the front cover, where the shrink is missing.

Labels--- EX/EX.  Dark green Apples, beautiful bold colors.  Capitol logo at the 5 o’clock position on Side 2 label makes this a first pressing.  Labels look as though they were just printed.  NO SPINDLE MARKS, EITHER SIDE.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG+. Generic white inner sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show.  Has yellowed, but there are NO SPLIT SEAMS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: N/A.

This will make a great Christmas present for your Beatles collector, or a keeper to fill in your missing albums in shrink!

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
