READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

Beatles LP 1970 The Beatles’ Christmas Album, GENUINE COPY!

Did you settle for a counterfeit copy during the Christmas season?  Well, as Coca-Cola proclaimed during the 1970 Christmas season, It’s the real thing.

Vinyl--- VG+/ EX.  Side 1 has one very long, very light soft scuff that you can’t feel with your fingertip, and that your stylus won’t feel with its.  One or two even lighter and much shorter scuffs that can be obscene, and not heard.  Side 2 has one or two very light lines.  There are small air bubbles in the vinyl on the first track on each side.  See photos.  Vinyl retains 90% original shine.  VERY nice copy.

Plates--- SBC-1-100A/ SBC-2-100B, on each side are “Bell Sound” machine-stamped, “sf” and delta triangle hand-etched.  Hand-etched Delta symbol (or rifle) in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Winchester.  No additional plate numbers needed, since these LP’s were to be pressed in a quantity far below what would normally wear a plate out.

Cover--- VG+.  Cover construction is absolutely correct for a genuine copy.  Front slick was applied first, followed by the back slick, which creates the slick seam being on the back cover, as opposed to the counterfeit with graphics being printed directly onto the cover.  Spine print is bold and legible.

Cover has light wear all around.  Looks like there is also some sort of tape removal damage to the mouth of the cover.  See photos.

Labels--- EX/ NM.  Side 1 label has a miniscule amount of missing paper.  See photo.  Otherwise, the labels look brand newly-printed, NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Concentric ring is appropriately-placed at a quarter of an inch out from the playhole, as all Capitol/Apple-pressed LP’s are.  Counterfeits have the concentric ring much further out, closer to the edge of the label.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Generic white.

Perfectly solid keeper.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
