READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles LP 1976 White Album Upside-Down Gatefold Orange Capitol, NM and Complete!

As a match from last week’s Apple release with an upside-down gatefold, this week’s offer is a NM copy on the Orange Capitol label. 

Not many of these got out, so don’t miss this one like you missed last week’s!

Vinyl--- NM/ NM/ NM/ EX.  Not one single scratch among the first three sides! Side 4 has a few light manufacturer’s defects on the first two cuts, won’t affect playback.  Silky vinyl!

Plates--- J55/ G83.  J45/ G85.  Hand-etched letter “O” in the dead waxes on all four sides makes this copy pressed in Jacksonville.

Cover--- VG+.  Light to moderate browning from the decades, light staining on the very outer edges.  NO SPLITS.  A cool additional tiny error is that the gatefold was applied a little too far to the right, cutting off Ringo's photo.

Labels--- EX/ NM.  One or two very light spider-web spindle marks.  Otherwise, labels look brand new.

Poster--- NM.  Looks brand new. This copy was issued with a leftover 1975 poster, which has semi-gloss, as opposed to the flat poster from 1976 onward, as well as the “Apple Records, Inc.” disclaimer at the bottom left. 

Four Photos--- NM.  All look brand new.

Capitol Inner Sleeves--- Oh, no no no.  These platters have been fitted with very nice rice paper sleeves for protection.

This is a VERY nice set.  If your New Year’s Resolution was “Go For It,” here’s a good starting point.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
