READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles LP 1978 Abbey Road Capitol Picture Disc in Shrink, NM!

Originally meant to be a limited run of 25,000 copies worldwide, it was boosted to 100,000 after the initial ones sold out within days.  100,000 is still very limited, when you consider that this album sold millions of copies upon release. 

Millions.

Vinyl--- NM/NM.  Both sides have hardly been played.  The Picture Disc looks brand new.

Plates--- F2/F2.  “Mastered by Capitol” on both sides, as well as the guy who mastered the plates, “Wally.”

Cover--- EX. A few minor issues, but the shrink has protected the cover nicely.  Mouth has a slight warp, otherwise cover looks NM.  Price sticker on back cover.

Breathe Holes--- No breathe holes.  These picture disc issues didn’t feature breathe holes in their shrinkwrap on any of their titles.

Labels--- No labels.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- EX. Thick plastic inner sleeve is in EX condition, NO SPLITS.

RIAA: None.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
