Visual: EXC+/nr MINT
Superb looking vinyl which is unmarked and appears mint in strong daylight. On close inspection under a halogen desk light nothing more is revealed other than light whispy sleeve removal marks. The vinyl lies 100% flat.
Audio: EXC+/nr MINT
Very little to fault this outstanding audio copy other than the occasional light surface noise in some of the gaps and two faint ticks on the run-in to ‘No Reply’. There is no groovewear or distortion to any of the tracks. The richness and depth of the acoustics is superb; a wonderful listening experience. Needless to say there are no jumps or sticks.
Labels: EXC+/nr MINT
A fresh set off labels with only a few faint spindle trails indicating that the record has only been played a few times since new. There is no writing to either label. Side 1 carries the KT tax code.
Cover
EXCELLENT
Of all Beatles covers, this delicate gatefold sleeve (which was prone to wear and damage) is one of the toughest Beatles covers to find. This cover however retains most of its original shop freshness and high gloss laminate. Unlike so many copies, the spine remains intact and uncrushed. The sleeve would have been graded higher but for a couple of light marks to the laminate on the front panel and a crease to the laminate on the rear panel. The sleeve is the dark UK 1st issue version and positively dates to 4th December 1964 and is not the later lighter version which is sometimes being used to replace worn out 1st issue covers.
Inner-sleeve Excellent +
Original 1964 fresh rice paper inner.
