Description
Beatles LP Introducing the Beatles Legit Vee Jay CLEAN Copy!
Ever try to find a copy of this album that was in better condition than an average VG? Here’s a supernice copy. (I had copied this copy to reel-to-reel several years ago, and the mono depth and punchiness is not to be believed.)
Vinyl--- Not NM, but this one is surely a strong piece of vinyl. Side 1 has one very light scuff, a few stray hairlines. The rest of the side looks NM. Side 2 has just a handful of small hairlines, maybe one errant one elsewhere on the side. But the rest of the vinyl looks NM.
Plates--- Side 1: Audio Matrix, URJ, 2-12-64, 63-3402. Side 2: Audio Matrix, URJ, ARC 2184, 63-3403.
Cover--- Structurally solid. NO split seams! Top edge of front cover has two small areas of crushed cover, one left, one right. I don’t know if this cover was misseated in a frame or something like that. Back cover retains an awful lot of bright white. But unfortunately, Jean was stupid enough to write her name in black magic marker on it. Worse, J. Pearson stuck a ticker-tape label to the bottom left corner. A piece of white electrical tape with the number 23 is at the top left corner. An original “Inspected 4-2 stamp appears in the top right corner, which is cool.
Labels--- Side 1 label is absolutely NM gorgeous. Side 2 label? Well, see the photo. It has issues.
Inner Sleeve--- Issued with a plain white non die-cut sleeve. Vee Jay paper was of low grade, and it dried out and split very easily. This sleeve has a tiny center split seam to the bottom, and a one-inch split to one side seam. A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to further damage your original inner sleeve en route to you.
RIAA: 2. Believe it or not, there’s a numeral 2 where the Capitol RIAA number is usually located.
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
