READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

Beatles LP Meet the Beatles! 1964 First Pressing RARE STEREO Consignment

I am really loathe to sell STEREO consignment pressings, simply because they are far more scarce than their mono counterparts.  By FAR, consignment plants were issued mono plates.  But only some titles were pressed by other plants in stereo.

This copy is an example in astonishing condition.  Best of luck finding one at all.

Vinyl--- Excellent, both sides.  A little dulling has occurred from the 6 decades, and each side has just a few faint hairlines visible under a bare bulb.  Beautiful piece of vinyl.

Plates--- B10/ A9.  Pretty early plates!  This is a Columbia Records pressing.  Collectors will know that Columbia lathes focused a little more on the high-end detail in the sound spectrum.  In this case, the most stark aspect I remember is that on Capitol pressings during the track “All I’ve Got To Do,” you can faintly hear Ringo’s bass drum pedal squeak as he plays.  (I’m a drummer.  I notice such things!)  But on the Columbia disc, you really hear it in one speaker.  I forget which side it’s on.

Cover--- Good condition.  Bottom has a split seam about five inches long.  Spine is missing a half-inch section of slick.  Moderate ringwear on the front cover, moderate dirtwear on the back cover.  Not the best cover, but it’s also not destroyed.

Labels--- NM labels, both sides.  The concentric ring on the label being thin and closer to the outer edge of the labels make this disc cut on Columbia’s lathe.  I’ve only ever found two copies of the stereo Columbia, but both copies share the strange anomaly that tracks 4,5 and 6 on the Side 1 label, and tracks 5 and 6 on the Side 2 label are printed in brighter silver ink than the other titles.

I’ve always wondered whether they were all printed this way, but in 47 years of collecting, I can’t find a third copy to compare.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Original blue Capitol inner sleeve is present and in pretty good condition.  Bottom seam has a center split about three inches long.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: 4

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
